it was a lovely christmas.
this year was so different--the last time we stayed home was when i was 1! so waking up in my own bed was really weird...but we made breakfast...real breakfast! my family usually just grabs granola bars on the way out the door...but i made pancakes =) and then we went to see the polar express (the effects in it were amazing)...and then we had christmas with my nana. it was a really relaxed and peaceful day.
cleaning out my room and going through old memories and meaningful objects (both positive and negative) really made me think a lot about what i like and don't like. i made a list of the things that i've decided i really, really like:
- candles
- simplicity
- me (shocker--i think i may have finally learned)
- contentment
- the velveteen rabbit
- quiet
- vintage metal canisters
- scarves
- chocolate
- flowers
- butterflies
- black and white
- my sister (another shocker)
and i read proverbs 31 again last night. that's the passage about the virtuous wife--it's really...something i aspire to. i guess i was really in a list-making mood b/c i made another list...here's what God says a virtuous wife is like:
- worth more than rubies
- trustworthy
- full of good works
- loyal
- talented
- selfless
- innovative
- intelligent
- a night owl =)
- generous
- humble
- confident
- elegant
- thrifty
- strong
- honorable
- joyful
- wise
- kind
- productive
- blessed
- God-loving =)
this is long enough. i hope you've had a wonderful christmas--and if not, that next year will be.
